| Postdoctoral researcher in light curve and radial velocity curve analysis of Long Period Variables |
The successful applicant will take part in creating an analysing the variable star catalogs of Long Period Variables in the OGLE data. The analysis requires handling large photometric data-sets within the Linux environment and experience with variable star classification. Research tasks also involve usage of other publicly available photometric and spectroscopic catalogs and the statistical analysis of the resulting multi-data sample of LPVs. The candidate should have a PhD in astronomy/astrophysics and experience in observational data analysis and programming. The position is planned for an initial period of 1 year, with an extension for up to 2 years, and it comes with a competitive salary thanks to ERC funding. It also includes travel and publication funds and access to a dedicated computing cluster.
