This ASAS Map is an interactive graphic interface giving you access to the
ASAS Catalogue data.
You can play with it clicking on the Map or entering data in the right panel.
Here are some usefull hints:
- V-band Catalog contains data for all stars with delta < +30 deg
- I-band Catalog contains data for the Selected Fields only;
- To select new object:
- Click on the blue rectangle to center on any of the Selected Fields,
- or
- Enter stellar coordinates (ra dec) or ASAS designation (hhmmss-ddmm.m)
into the Coordinates window,
- Change Size to < 3 deg (e.g. 1.9 or 0.5 deg),
- Click Apply
- Only stars with brightness I, brightness dispersion
err and number of observations N falling within
selected ranges will
be displayed.
- Select Pan to recenter displayed field (Click Apply!) or
- Select Plot Curve (Apply!) to change to the data-retrieval
mode.
- Click on the star to get its light curve.
- Click the Get Data button to download stellar data (ASCII).
- Click on Find Period to perform simple period search.
- Play further clicking on power spectra plots.
