Types of Variable Stars (incomplete sample):

Note, however, that data presented here come from an independent reduction of OGLE-III data by Szymon Kozlowski (from his PhD thesis).


Note: The light curves presented below come from one field centered roughly at the Galactic Centre. So it is very likely that stars presented here are ~8 kpc away. This clearly means that the geometric distance modulus is ~14.5 mag. This field suffers from ~1 mag extinction (this is actually a low extinction field). The rough estimation of the abolute magnitude of a star (here in filter I) is its apparent magnitude minus 15.5 mag. This does not take into account blending (meaning that the star may be fainter). For example first RR Lyrae variable star would have absolute I magnitude of ~0.5 mag.
