2. Animation of the Cepheid light curve

Cepheid variables change their brightness with time as a result of stellar pulsations. Periods of Cepheids ranges from 1 to 100 days. The maximum in brightness is typically 130% to 230% of the minimum. (Przemek Mróz / OGLE).
