Gaia mission retirement

On March 27, 2025, the European Space Agency’s Gaia space mission ended its work and went into a well-deserved retirement. The data collected by the Gaia mission has contributed to a revolution in almost all fields of astronomy, generating thousands of scientific publications. The following staff and students of the Astronomical Observatory were involved in the Gaia space mission over the years: Prof. Dr. Lukasz Wyrzykowski, Dr. Milena Ratajczak, Dr. Krzysztof Rybicki, Dr. Katarzyna Kruszyńska, Nada Ihanec, Zofia Kaczmarek and Mauritz Wicker.
