Karl Schwarzschild Medal for Prof. Andrzej Udalski

The German Astronomical Society (AG) has announced that the most prestigious prize in Germany in the field of astronomy and astrophysics, the Karl Schwarzschild Medal, will be awarded this year to Prof. Andrzej Udalski.

Professor Udalski was honored for his pioneering contribution to the development of a new field of astrophysical research: Time Domain Astronomy, in which the variability of brightness and other parameters of stars and other objects is studied at various time scales.
